St. Lucie Public Schools 2024 Graduation Guidelines Each graduate will receive tickets for the ceremony from their school and should arrive in one car with their guests. All guests, including children and babies, require a ticket. Any high-risk individuals or those who are susceptible to the heat should consider staying home and watching the live broadcast of the ceremony. All graduates must arrive at least 1 hour before the start of the ceremony. Guests may enter venue 45 minutes before graduation begins. Storybook Character Day at St. Lucie West K8

Kindergarten and first grade Character Day at St. Lucie West K8 was fantastic! Students were encouraged to let their imaginations soar as they read a book of their choice, created an inspired book report, and dressed up as an unforgettable character from their book. It was a truly magical day for students and teachers!    

Village Green’s PBIS Carnival

Village Green’s spectacular PBIS team hosted their annual End of Year Carnival for students who displayed positive behavior and met the school-wide PBIS expectations throughout the school year. Students and their families enjoyed an afternoon filled with bounce houses, interactive games, an obstacle course, dunk tanks, and even a petting zoo! Principal, Mrs. Boria was in the dunk tank, and Assistant Principal, Mrs. Drost was voted by students to get pied in the face. It was a fun event and we are so happy to be able to celebrate the end of a successful year!

8th-Grade Students from Oak Hammock K8 Attends Gradventure

Oak Hammock’s 8th-grade students enjoyed a fun-filled night at the theme park. They had an opportunity to enjoy peers and teachers outside of the school and classroom setting. This was a memorable night for students. For some students, this was the first time that they had visited a theme park. A good time was had by all who attended.    

Cheering On Our Dolphins

Our Phin Nation Cheerleaders at Floresta Elementary School encouraged our third through fifth-grade students in preparation for their FAST testing. Their message was “Try your hardest; do your best; but always remember YOU are more than a test!”  We believe in all of our Dolphins!

Morningside Encourages Students to “Bring Their a Game” on State Testing Days

Morningside students brought their “A” game as we continued state testing. Teachers and staff wrote encouraging messages on home plates for our students to read on their way into school. Then, they lined the halls to cheer them on and get them excited about doing their best. We are so proud of our Blue Jays and all their hard work! They brought their “A game” and knocked it out of the park! ⚾️

We are so proud! Some of Mrs. Archer’s kindergarten students are mastering sight words and celebrating with Grade level brag tags & Texas Road House certificates! Blue= All Kindergarten. Green = All First grade! There is still time to earn more! Keep working on those Sight words!!!!!

Oak Hammock K8 Hosts Mother and Son Dance

Kindergarten through third-grade boys enjoyed a night out with their moms at the Mother/Son Dance that took place in the cafeteria at Oak Hammock K8 School. They enjoyed a nice dinner with mom, a variety of crafts, and picture-taking while dancing the night away. Both sons and moms had a memorable time. Mathletes Earn the Top Scores at Morningside

Today we celebrated our Morningside Mathletes! The goal of the program is to build a love of math through challenging problems that promote critical thinking. The students showcase their talents through both regional and national competitions. Our Mathletes have worked hard to rise to the challenge and we couldn’t be more proud! “Math problems are no problem!”    

Lawnwood Welcomes BMX Freestyle Riders

Come to School!  Arrive on Time!  Stay all Day! Attendance Matters at Lawnwood Elementary School.  The K-5 students who met the schoolwide attendance goal of 92% or higher were invited to attend a BMX Show.  The students enjoyed watching this dynamic duo as they performed bunny hops, track stands, wheelies, 180 Turns, and so much more!  It was another fun day at Lawnwood Elementary School.  GO LEOPARDS!

Port St Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Annual Field Day

On Saturday, May 11th, The Port Saint Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion hosted their annual Field Day. All four Companies competed in a series of athletic events which included Tug of War, Jag Ball, Soccer, Kickball, Dodgeball, Volleyball, and Basketball being the tie breaker, and introducing our new event Bombs Away. Cadets were given a competitive opportunity to showcase their skills against other companies. SLWCHS Repeats As District Champs in Softball

St. Lucie Excels at Florida History Day

The annual Florida History Day state contest, sponsored by the Museum of Florida History, brought together young historians from across the state. The event was held in Tallahassee where students showcased their research, creativity, and passion for history while vying for a chance to advance to the national competition this summer.  14 students from St. Lucie County (Oak Hammock K-8, St. Lucie West K-8, Lincoln Park Academy, Southern Oaks Middle School, Southport Middle School, Fort Pierce Central High School, Treasure Coast High School, and Somerset College Preparatory Academy) presented to panels of judges at Tallahassee Community College on May 6th.  … Read More

St. Lucie Firefighters Visit Cobra Nation for Autism Awareness

Fort Pierce Central students and teachers were joined by St. Lucie County firefighters to celebrate Autism Awareness in April! Mrs. Puentes’ class was met by our local heroes in the bus loop for an interactive tour of two well-equipped fire trucks. Firefighters arrived with their aerial truck and fire engine. Groups of students rotated to see, hear, and ask questions about the exterior and interior components of the aerial truck. Our firefighters graciously allowed students to participate in the fire hose demonstration and showed their longest ladder extension in the fleet. Students found the experience impressive and fun! Boom, Snap, Clap at St. Lucie West K8

Fifth-grade students in Mrs. Portee’s class played a game of Boom, Snap, Clap to sharpen their mathematical skills. Partners sat across from one another with a set of cards in between them. The teacher boomed, snapped, clapped and gave a rule for what to do with a decimal! Students quickly raced their partner to match the card in their set to the operation the teacher was referring to. They had a blast! \

Lawnwood’s Parent Night

All grade 3-5 parents were invited to attend a Parent Night.  Administration, Instructional Coaches, School Counselors, and Teachers facilitated the event.  Parents were provided a copy of their child’s Progress Monitoring ELA and Math Score Report and they learned how they can help their student master grade-level content skills.  A video was shown to help parents understand computer adaptive testing and parents were provided time to ask questions and discuss concerns.  A special thank you goes out to all Lawnwood Parents for attending this informative session and for all that they do to support our school.  GO LEOPARDS!  

FPC Appreciates Teachers

A week’s long Superhero marathon in Cobra Nation set new standards for celebrating instructional staff! This year’s super teacher appreciation was one filled with food, treats, Cobra swag, and sentimental notes from students. Hosted by the Student Government Association (SGA), the first-ever Crystal Apply awards will take place on Wednesday, May 15th, when honored teachers are nominated by their students. Teachers also received handwritten and hand-drawn notes about their superhero experience in the classroom!
