Why do so many people only play NBA 2K, Madden, or CoD?

I don't mind people's gaming tastes, it's absolutely okay for them to play these types of games. I'm just curious as to why everyone I encounter in real life ONLY play these games??? Like the combo I always see in real life is teenager/adults: Play 2K, Madden, CoD, and maybe Fortnite/GTA5 on the side. Smaller kids: Roblox and Minecraft. That's it. Again, I have no issue with this but it's so strange to me how I'm 17 turning 18 very soon and yet I somehow feel like I'm behind with the times of what people like to play these days 😭 Like you don't fw no Mario, no Spider-man, no GoW, no nothing??? Like it's genuinely hard for me to find ppl with a common interest in video games with me unless I purposely seek them out in specific groups.

Thinking about this because of Ant and how well liked he seems to be, thought I'd both put that to the test and see what other candidates are in play for face of the league.

The "what a player wants" commercial ruined SGA for me. 🤣🤣🤣 In all seriousness, great player, but doesn't seem to bring much charisma to the court.

Mine had been Curry for a long time based on his otherworldly shooting skill, but that novelty has worn off. I'm not sure who I would say today. What do you all think? Which players would you turn a game on to watch if it wasn't your own team?

By the time this game was out of hand we had attempted 15 3 pointers. That was at the end of the third. This is literal insanity. We play like the 04 pistons

I know there was an article about how Young wanted to shoot more and Vogel keeps saying he wants us to shoot more 3s but something needs to happen. The low hanging fruit is to blame Vogel because x,y,z but the reality is as a coach your job is to coach. You need to be able to coach the stars whether they like it or not. If you can't, why are you the coach? Obviously it's the playoffs so you don't change things up drastically now but it should have been done in the season.

And no, before some cornball comments, having a 'PG' would make no difference. These guys can dribble the ball and are capable of setting off ball screens to set up shooters. In fact unless we get a 40%+ 3 point shooting PG it'd probably be worse for us

How do Americans feel about the NBA scheduling more and more games midday?

It's always going to be hard for US sports to truly get into the EU market because of our time-zone differences makes it so that normal east coast games start between 0100-0200 and west coast games 0300-0500.

The NBA is scheduling more and more games that air early enough for the EU market to be realistically able to watch it. These playoffs we got a lot of play-in games and we are getting so many playoff games on the weekend that are watchable. Today is the first time I've ever seen a Friday game on "EU time", with Bucks Vs Pacers starting at 2330 in Sweden.

Around 10 years ago we were lucky if we got a couple of games a season, before that it almost never happened.

How does the American public feel about this? Does anyone mind?

We are obviously thrilled that we can catch some games. The EU market is massive so there's definitely money to make.

When it comes to time-zones the Asian market is a bit better off. They can catch games in the mornings or noon.

Where does Pelinka rank amongst NBA GMs?

I'd say bottom 3. His moves since the title have been straight up sabotage.

You have Lebron, have a team in LA, and are the biggest brand in basketball and still can't bring in a decent role player?

- Made the WB trade which was an abomination. "Lebron wanted him" is a lame defense. Lebron also wanted a guy like Lue. Pelinka didn't listen. Yet he did trade for a terrible fit and gutted our depth

- Speaking of Lue, hired a terrorist as the head coach instead of Lue or literally anyone else

- Let Caruso walk even though he wanted to stay here. Not like this team needs guard defenders or anything...

- Decided to get Russell when no one else fucking wanted him because he is the worst playoff performer on earth

- Can't find ONE role player that can consistently contribute in the playoffs? How the fuck is that possible? The Nuggets have guys like KCP, Gordon, and Porter giving the Lakers the work while we have dudes that look like G leaguers out there.

Managing to get every single move you make wrong is somewhat impressive...

The Athletic reporting Amazon Prime about to get TV rights for NBA starting 2025

https://theathletic.com/5450064/2024/04/26/nba-broadcasting-rights-amazon-prime-video/?source=fbhq

In what will be a landmark move in sports media history, the NBA and Amazon Prime Video have the framework of a deal that will make the streaming service one of the main homes for the league’s games, executives with direct knowledge of the talks told The Athletic.

It is expected that Prime Video’s package will include significant regular-season and postseason games, perhaps even some conference finals. The anticipation is that the final contract will be for at least a decade and begin the 2025-2026 season.

ESPN/ABC, as the website Puck reported Thursday, also has a framework of a deal with the expectations that an agreement will be completed. ESPN/ABC is expected to keep the NBA Finals on its networks for the duration of its deals. Like Amazon, ESPN’s new contract also is expected to be at least a decade in length.

All of the details are not finalized yet, but all sides are under the expectations they will get done. The NBA, Amazon and ESPN all declined to comment.

There will be a third part (TNT or NBC) and possible a fourth partner.

The fact they're announcing this so quickly probably means there's going to be a pretty sizeable bump in the cap.

I was hoping Apple would come in over the top and add NBA to their MLB coverage, but it looks like going forward the NBA will be sort of Basketball Ghidora of ESPN/ABC/Amazon Prime. Which I'm not too sure I dig much, if at all.

Anybody else feel this way? Feels like all the creativity is gone in favor of jerseys you’d see in a video game jersey creator. These Clippers jerseys are especially terrible. You’d think you’d want good branding for your billion dollar global franchise.

Winning Friday thanks to top plays in MLB, and NHL and late plays on Wolves and over in NBA. Hope everyone made some last night?

Note: Looks like a few angry folks who clogged up my page (and DM's) again last night, complaining about ONE loss (Mets), and a few other trolls who appeared again. I NEVER say anything is a lock, My team is the DAMN YANKEES (I bet against them often like last night), so if you're going to whine and complain do it somewhere else, and have your facts correct (I never call anything a LOCK contrary to what troll said). And remember, we cannot win them all, even the #1 play everyday but if you've followed me for more than a Day you know we win consistently. I cannot nor will I ever say anything is a lock ( I am not a locksmith), nor a guaranteed win. I do this for free to help the gamblers on my time and energy and deal with all the hassles/trolls but at some point soon I may shut it down for good and just focus on my plays.

Thank you in advance to my followers who say thanks and tip when they hit. You all are appreciated more than you know.

In Dallas for the weekend, first NBA game, have some questions.

In Dallas for the weekend, first NBA game, have some questions.

Good evening y'all. Just a casual sports fan, never went to a NBA game so decided to go tonight. I have a few questions.

  1. I have no Dallas merch. I'm actually wearing a Messi Inter Miami jersey right now (I am from Florida). Should I buy a shirt tonight at Academy OR do they provide playoff shirts on your seat?

  2. Parking. Should I just uber from the hotel or would parking be better? My ticket came with parking, but I'm not sure how traffic is leaving the game or how close the garages are.

  3. How early should I arrive tonight? I researched and saw the doors open 90 minutes prior.

Lastly, Go Mavs!

Why is NBA media so bad at visibility for smaller market teams?

I’m more of an NFL fan but have been making an avid attempt to watch more pacers games (which is way harder than it should be) and kept up to date with the team on socials. Why is it that on Reddit, for example, the only posts on the NBA subreddit are about the lakers right now? We have game 3 of our series and several other games tonight and there doesn’t seem to be anyone talking about it over there at all. Just simply astounding how little representation most of the playoff matchups are getting.

I understand star power and whatnot, but people don’t even want to discuss the pacers period over there unless it’s a post game thread. Maybe I’m just venting here but I am legitimately saddened that the majority of the association is just ignored when it comes to actually talking ball in that sub (which I’ve read just doesn’t happen and assumed was a joke). Even when I tried listening to podcasts it’s just lakers over and over again or discussing the warriors when they didn’t even make the playoffs. The sub shutdown during the finals for god sake. Is there realistically anything that can be done? Should I just accept that the joy I get interacting with fans of all teams in the NFL subreddit and getting to know different teams through it will just never happen? No wonder it was so hard for me to really find interest in nba over CBB if there is so little care given to literally anyone not wearing a Celtics or Lakers jersey. Thanks for coming to my rant/ Ted talk ig.
