Yes, the world is beautiful and you have all the freedom that you want, but as a game, Watch Dogs Legion is shallow and suffers from poor level and character design. A strong contender for the most disappointing game of the year.

What players will find when picking up Watch Dogs: Legion is a game that is prepared for a long post-launch game-as-a-service experience. The additional DLC announced so far leans into the strengths of the game and established ideas that the series does well. The beekeepers, paintball guns and magician tricks all bring a sense of playful humour to the series, but it is worth noting that anyone who is (rightfully) tired of Ubisoft's content approach to games is going to find this one a very content-driven game.

Having literally every character playable is a gargantuan task, and from a gameplay perspective it works to cement Legion as the best Watch Dogs game thus far. Regardless, Legion is a triumph for making good on most of its lofty promise and a triumph for the series.

Watch Dogs: Legion is a departure from the typical Ubisoft brand, and it's better for it. The play as anybody system just works, there's a lot to do, and it's unabashedly political in a way that feels important in 2020.

Apparently the source code for WD:Legion got leaked on a private tracker. Its 560GB compressed.

I have never deleted a game because of its dialogue and voice acting before. But it is so bad. It made the game unplayable for me. I returned to it twice with the goal of 'blocking out the dialogue' but it defeated me.

I enjoyed Watch Dogs. It took itself far too seriously but was fun enough. I really enjoyed Watch Dogs 2. Much brighter and didn't take itself too seriously.

Whereas Legion is like they got my 70 year old, talkback-radio-listening dad to write the script with the note "make them sound like edgy youth". And the voice acting? My god. It was so bad. Did they get privately-educated RADA graduates and request that they sound 'urban'? Though to be fair, they had an appalling script to work with.

Oh! And the AI guy's dialogue. Bagley? It was like being trapped with that one friend who thinks he's funny because he once made someone laugh in high school.

I really wanted to enjoy hacking around London but the idea of spending 10s of hours with these characters was too great an ask.
