The Young and the Restless Tribute: Shemar Moore and Victoria Rowell Return to Honor Kristoff St. John
Shemar Moore will reprise his The Young and the Restless role to pay tribute to the CBS soap’s longtime cast member Kristoff St. John, who died on Feb. 3 at the age of 52.
Per EW.com, Moore will return as Malcolm Winters, the brother of St. John’s Neil Winters, in two episodes airing April 25-26. Moore’s homecoming — the S.W.A.T. star last visited Y&R in September 2014 — is part of a week-long storyline that will address St. John’s passing. (On April 23, Genoa City will learn of Neil’s unexpected death , and then gather to remember him.)
Additionally, former cast members Victoria Rowell and Mishael Morgan, who respectively played Neil’s wives Drucilla Winters and Hilary Curtis Winters, will appear as themselves during a tribute episode. That special installment, airing April 29, will feature cast past and present sharing memories of St. John, as well as clips of memorable moments from the actor’s 28-year run on the iconic soap.
“We all miss Kristoff immensely and are understandably still in a bit of shock,” executive producer Anthony Morina tells EW. “Our hope is that this storyline and tribute episode airing in April will honor the legendary character Kristoff helped create, and provide our audience with the opportunity to say a meaningful goodbye to Neil Winters.”
I wish they’d bring back Tonya Lee Williams as Olivia.
Hopefully Victoria Rowell’s return will pave the way for Dru to be brought back from the dead.
I agree about Olivia, it’s been far too long since she’s been on screen. And with Nate in town now, it makes sense that his mother would stop by every now and then for a visit.
As for Dru, it would have made much more sense to bring her back at any point over the last twelve years, since her one true love was and always will be Neil. With Kristoff’s passing and Neil being written out, it doesn’t make much sense to bring Dru back since they can never reunite.
Umm, there’s more to Drucilla than just being Neil’s wife. A lot more. What a reductive point of view on the character. Shame on you!
Relax. Back from the dead storylines on soaps are either about reuniting a couple or is about a villain returning to torment their enemies. Without Neil, the first option doesn’t apply. And she’s not a villain so the second option doesn’t apply.
I’m quite relaxed, so spare me the faux concern. Drucilla’s resurrection doesn’t need to be a cliche. She’s not Neil’s side piece. She’s a vibrant character in her own right.

I agree with the show’s decision to kill-off Neil and not recast the role. Kristoff truly made the role his own, and writing in a proper send-off for Neil pays tribute to both the actor and his character.
I do wonder, though, what the show will do with the Winters family now. The only remaining member is Devon, since Lily is in prison and Dru is dead too. It would be nice to see more of the extended Barber/Hastings family return full time. I also wonder where Sofia and Moses are, since they have barely been mentioned in the last few years.
If Malcolm doesn’t come back or get recast, or Dru come back from the dead, I would love some long lost sibling of Neil’s to suddenly show up to keep the Winters together. However, it looks like they might actually be expanding the Hamilton family, which is fine, but then that means the Winters/Ashbys will probably die off if the actress who plays Lily doesn’t want to come back to the show on a regular basis.
I think now that Shamar Moore is being recast he should come back as a good cop to work with Paul since they may be firing Rey Rosales. What do you think?

Yay! So glad they were able to figure out a way to bring Shemar Moore and Victoria Rowell back. Do you know if Christel Khalil will be back as well?
Victoria and Mishael are returning as themselves to talk about what it was like to work with Kristoff. I love and miss Dru but I think VR’s lawsuit and how she blew the roof off the behind the scenes stuff will prevent any return for her :-(
I hope they left Lily out of jail for the episodes.
