2024 Solar Eclipse in Burnet County

Burnet County will be the epicenter of one of the biggest astronomical events in decades when a total eclipse of the sun occurs at about 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2024. Expected to draw tourists from around the world, the phenomenon will not be fully visible again in this region for another 360 years.

The best place to see the eclipse is just about anywhere in Burnet County, whether from a boat or along the shoreline of one of the county’s five lakes or atop any of its majestic hills. How To Safely View The Eclipse

A direct look at a total eclipse is only safe during it’s totality, when the sun is entirely blocked by the moon.  On April 8, 2024 that will last for over 4 minutes and 20 seconds here in Burnet County.
