"There was nothing that could happen that was bigger in the game than someone hitting a shot at the buzzer to win... but there was nowhere to turn to find that information." Mike Lynch, our Director of Data, spoke at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference over the weekend about his research identifying and compiling every game-winning buzzer-beater in NBA history.

"We wanted to make sure that we were really intentional with the work we did for both men’s and women’s data... to make sure we were achieving parity on the site on the front end and the back end." Sports Reference President Sean Forman and Scrum Master Adela Armstrong-Spielberg spoke at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference today about the recent addition of women’s college basketball data to our sites, our commitment to parity for men’s and women’s sports, and the impact this level of access has on the sports landscape on and off the court.
