The former first-round linebacker heads into the final season of his rookie contract potentially playing for his next deal. Collins was once a fixture in the Cardinals’ defense but saw his snap rate almost cut in half in 2023, the first season with head coach Jonathan Gannon and his unique 3-4, shallow two-high scheme. Collins’ potential departure after the 2024 season could open up additional snaps for 2023 second-round linebacker BJ Ojulari.

The fabled Giant killer played the first six years of his NFL career in Philadelphia but was largely an afterthought the previous two seasons with D’Andre Swift in town. Scott, a diminutive in stature scat back, has made the largest impact on special teams throughout his career, which is likely why he was brought into the Rams organization on a one-year deal. In other words, he is likely best left on the waiver wire for the time being.

The option would’ve paid Wilson $22.4 million, but that’s much too rich for a quarterback who’s thrown only 23 touchdowns (and 25 interceptions) in 34 games with the Jets. While Wilson will get a chance to compete, the future of the team for now is Bo Nix who the Broncos selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Wilson could benefit career wise from a fresh start and new scene in Denver.

Herron was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Wake Forest. He played two seasons with the Patriots and another two with the Las Vegas Raiders, appearing in 35 regular season games with 11 starts. Despite entering the NFL as a guard, he played mostly left tackle and right tackle which adds more versatility to his skill set as he competes for a back-up job in New Orleans.

Lemieux was drafted by the New York Giants in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of Oregon. In four seasons with the Giants, he appeared in 18 regular season games with 12 starts at left guard. Last season, he played in four games for New York with one start at left guard, before suffering a season-ending biceps injury in October. He figures to battle for a back-up interior offensive line spot in New Orleans.

The 34-year-old decided to hang it up after he “realized everybody was pretty much moving on with the younger players.” The 12-year veteran will retire with 22 interceptions for 508 yards and four touchdowns. He was most known for being part of the “No Fly Zone,” in Denver along with Aqib Talib, Darian Stewart, T.J. Ward, and Bradley Roby. A group that helped lead the Broncos to victory in Super Bowl 50. Harris was undrafted out of Kansas but played for the Broncos from 2011-19, while making four Pro Bowls, earning one first-team All-Pro nod, and being named to the 2010s All-Decade Team. After leaving the Broncos, Harris played with the Los Angeles Chargers from 2020-21 and the New Orleans Saints in 2022, which was his last year in the NFL.

Allen was a fourth-round pick by the Rams in 2018 but was released in February. He’s played in 50 career games in Los Angeles, but injuries over the years have limited him to 32 starts and he ended last season on the injured list after suffering a calf injury in Week 15. The Browns have Ethan Pocic at center, but the only other center on the roster is 2023 sixth-round pick Luke Wypler, so Allen could compete for a back-up spot in Cleveland.

“It was like a walk in the park, it was like a sprained ankle,” Dobbins said of his recovery from a torn Achilles. “It was very easy, because I had the knee [injury] — the knee was pretty hard. The Achilles was, I would say, easy, just because that’s my mentality. It was pretty easy to me. I’ve had these injuries.” Excuse us for the skepticism. Dobbins, 25, will be nearly a year removed from his Achilles tear when the regular season starts, but running backs often take longer than a calendar year to get back to prior form after such a serious injury. Dobbins will compete for lead back duties with former Ravens teammate Gus Edwards and sixth round pick Kimani Vidal. There’s a chance Dobbins — who signed a one-year deal with LA this offseason — doesn’t make the final roster.

The Browns locked up Newsome for the next two seasons. Newsome has two interceptions over 39 career games with the Browns since the start of the 2021 season. He missed a few games last season with a knee issue and totaled 34 solo tackles, including four tackles for a loss.

Oweh, a former first round pick, is now locked up until the end of the 2025 season. Pro Football Focus graded Oweh as the league’s 30th best EDGE in 2023, as he had nine QB hits and 40 QB hurries in an injury-shortened campaign. He has at least five sacks in each of his three seasons with Baltimore. PFF graded the Ravens as the seventh best pass-rushing defense in 2023.
