The opening ceremony precedes the clash to open the tournament between host Qatar and group opponents Ecuador. The group stages continue until final match between Serbia and Switzerland on December 3 (AEDT).

SBS and SBS VICELAND will be the exclusive free-to-air home to all 64 matches, with a total of 500 hours of FIFA World Cup content being broadcast across the two channels throughout the tournament.

In addition to the live match coverage of all 64 matches - eight of which will be shown on SBS VICELAND - our content offering will include the World Cup Daily and FIFA TV Preview Shows, World Cup classic matches and match replays from Qatar 2022.

Many matches will be at favourable times for Aussie fans, with seven matches in the group stage set to kick off during prime time at 9pm (AEDT) and 20 group stage matches to kick off at 6am (AEDT).

The World Cup Daily show will be the one-stop-shop for Australians to catch up on everything from the FIFA World Cup every match day.

Every action-packed episode will include up-to-date highlights, previews, expert analysis, exclusive interviews, and star guests, plus all the latest news, views, and on-the-ground reactions from Qatar, in Australia and around the World.

The World Cup Daily show will air from 5:30pm (AEDT) each night on SBS and will be followed by the FIFA TV Preview Show. A digital-first VOD offering will be available earlier via SBS On Demand.

SBS On Demand is featuring from 1986 to 2018 to allow audiences to relive some of the greatest games on football’s biggest stage.

The majority of the classic matches will also be broadcast on SBS and SBS VICELAND during the World Cup.
