The Los Angeles Sparks have selected Cameron Brink with the No. 2 pick in the WNBA Draft.
After taking the stage with the commissioner, ESPN’s Holly Rowe took Brink aside to get the former Stanford star’s instant reaction.
“I think I fell in love with the game even more just being here in New York with these girls,” Brink said. “I feel like my passion has just reignited and the college season is hard, but I’m just so looking forward to a new challenge and ready to get to work.”
She tried to put into words what the moment meant to her.
“It’s just such a nerve-wracking environment but we work so hard for this,” Brink said. “And I just have to shout out all my girls. I’m so proud of all of us what a great job we’ve done. I’m so proud of all — I’m just so happy to be associated with all of them in the league and I’m just very thankful.”
