Our team were thrilled to attend the Antarctic Heritage Trust New Zealand film premiere of Polheim, a feature length documentary capturing an inspirational expedition to the South Pole! In 2022 Canon New Zealand became the official Expedition Photographic Partner of the Antarctic Heritage Trust ‘Inspiring Explorers Expedition™’. To support the South Pole expedition, National Manager, Professional Imaging, Tom Duncan, and Marketing Communications Specialist, Tracy Sou, arranged an EOS R5 and EOS C70 for the expedition crew to capture their experience and produce Polheim. Canon New Zealand’s Territory Manager, Nigel Mooney, and Field Sales Manager, Stephen Hawkes, were thrilled to attend the premiere of Polheim last week, which they found to be both inspiring and terrifying! Congratulations to the dedicated explorers and film crew involved in this project, we are so proud to see Polheim featuring in several International Film Festivals across Vancouver, London and our very own Queenstown. Follow the link below to learn more about the Inspiring Explorers Expedition™, or to watch Polheim online for free in August 2024. https://nzaht.org/ #CanonNZ #Photography #Community

Last Sunday marked World Creativity and Innovation Day and we're looking back on 50 years of groundbreaking innovation at Canon. Upon reflection, we're reminded of the countless ways in which creativity and innovation has fueled our journey, from transformative imaging technology that’s empowered people to tell their stories to transforming the printing industry with world-first technologies, our commitment to innovation has always been at the heart of everything we do. Look back at a few of our remarkable innovations that have shaped Canon’s journey over the past five decades. Canon Bubble Jet Printer: In 1985, Canon launched the world's first inkjet printer that employed Bubble Jet technology, paving the way for a new era of high-quality, affordable printing. Canon Digital Video Camcorder: In 1998, Canon introduced the XL1, the world's first digital video camcorder with interchangeable lenses. It revolutionised video and filmmaking with its digital format, interchangeable lens system and three CCD image sensors with pixel shift technology, providing superior image quality. Canon imagePRESS: Introduced in 2006, the Canon imagePRESS C1 marked a significant leap forward in digital printing technology. As the world's first digital colour printing press to deliver offset-like quality, the C1 set new standards for image quality and consistency. What a significant 50 years it has been! We're excited to continue pushing the boundaries of technology and looking forward to what’s to come! #CanonNewZealand #Innovation #Creativity #WorldCreativityAndInnovationDay #CanonInnovations #50YearsOfInnovation Canon Inc.

This week Canon Inc. announced that our SELPHY series of compact photo printers, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024. The SELPHY series was created in 2004 in response to heightened demand for photo prints due to the rapid spread of digital cameras in the early 2000s. The name SELPHY, a combination of “self” and “photography,” was given to convey Canon’s hope that easily printing photos taken using a digital camera would allow people to experience new ways of enjoying photography. #Canon #SELPHY #Printer

Another Hole-In-One Golf Day for Canon New Zealand Limited! Recently, we were able to support our long-standing customer, Rangitoto College at their annual Golf Day fundraising event! This year they were fundraising to support their Performing Arts Department to upgrade their stage and lighting facilities. At the Canon sponsored hole, we offered locally made real fruit ice cream from Scrunchy Millars, which players could enjoy before teeing off. It was a great day of networking and supporting the community at Pupuke Golf Club on Auckland's North Shore. Craig Gregory, Kelso Offenbaker, Trent Forsyth, Matthew John Theunissen
