Guduchi known scientifically as Tinospora Cordifolia, is a shrub of north and south Indian habitat. It has succulent stem and bark like paper material which is creamy and grey in colour. This shrub grows out aerial roots to neem and mango tree. This growth goes as long as 30 meters.


Almost all plants of Guduchi are used for different medical purposes. Guduchi is helpful in reducing pain and edema, in skin problems and gout. This herb helps improve longevity and memory. It boosts skin glow and rejuvenates voice. It is helpful in coping up with digestive disorders like loss of appetite, pain in abdominal, vomiting and nausea, hyper-acidity, worm infestations and other liver problems such as hepatitis. In hepatitis, its juice can be used by mixing it with rock candy. Also used in problems like raktapitta, heart debility, diabetes, anemia etc.


To cure chronic fever, the starch of this plant works as a household remedy. It also boosts energy, appetite and curbs burning sensation. Patients with diabetes are advised not to use Guduchi without caution because it has the ability of lowering blood pressure which can prove to be harmful for them.
