Upper Blepharoplasty in Brampton

As we age, our skin and tissue can stretch and the muscles that support them can sag and droop. This can happen anywhere on our body, including in the skin above our eyelids. While this can create an aged and tired appearance, it can also reduce peripheral vision in extreme cases.

An upper blepharoplasty will remove excess skin and tissue, possibly improving your vision and helping your eyes appear younger and more alert.

The Ideal Candidate Patients who have loose, “hooded” upper eyelid skin and often have eyes that look tired, closed, and experience vision impairment.
Target Areas The upper eyelid skin is the target area for this procedure.
Average Cost This procedure costs approximately $3,000.

The Treatment Process

Prior to the procedure, Dr. Sleightholm will provide an assessment and consultation. Patients are advised to avoid blood thinners such as wine, aspirin, and ibuprofen prior to the procedure.

  • A local anesthetic is injected into the upper eyelid to freeze the area.
  • Once the area is numbed, an incision is made to remove skin and fatty tissues.
  • To close the incision, a small stitch is used to bring the skin together and create a defined eyelid crease.

While there is very little to no pain during or post-procedure, there is usually some bruising and swelling that follows. We recommend that patients have a responsible adult drive them home from their procedure. Patients are advised to apply ice post-procedure to reduce this as it subsides.

The results of this procedure typically last for 7 years or longer.
