And like a human being, each farm is unique, with its own personality and identity. That's why one of the fundamental values of biodynamic farming is soil regeneration for the farm's sustainability and resilience, along with our environment and biodiversity. 🌍 By enhancing soil fertility, we not only nourish plants but also regulate soil conditions and capture CO2. The aim of fertilisation is primarily to build up humus and thereby create soil fertility from which plants are nourished. The humus layer provides a source of nutrients for plants, regulates the air and heat balance of the soil, and binds CO2. I was asked to tell a story about Mother Earth…but from her point of view. So, this is her story about how the fashion industry impacts her. This exercise was powerful for me, my mind synchronised and empathised with her being as I spoke. We mine scars into her bones, bleed out her oil and pour toxic chemicals into the rivers of her veins. I felt her pain. And it isn’t only fashion, but the interiors in our homes, our cars, our buildings...she gives us everything we need. But we’ve taken too much. We need to start listening to her, to change our behaviours as temporary inhabitants of this home we call Earth. #MothersDay #MotherEarth #MotherNature
