Whether you’re throwing a swank holiday soiree or looking for easy and unique gifts for your friends and family this season, these chic DIY gold dot champagne flutes are sure to awe! Serve up some pumpkin spice hot toddies in these bubbly flutes, paired with our favorite bacon wrapped dates appetizer, and your party will be the talk of the town for years to come! Since you can use any household nail polish, the color combinations are totally endless!
Materials
- Set of champagne flutes
- Metallic gold or silver nail polish
- Pointed Q-tips (can be found at your local drug store)
- Disposable tray
Directions
- Shake your nail polish well, then pour a nickel-sized circle of polish into the tray
- Dip the Q-tip into the nail polish and start to add dots to the bottom of the champagne flute, spacing the dots out more as you reach the top of the glass
- Let the polish dry and gently hand wash the flutes before serving bubbly in them!
*Tip: We recommend only pouring out enough polish for one glass at a time as the polish will get dry and tacky, making your dots uneven!
Note: Be sure to gently hand wash these only!

so cute! i want to do this!
LOVE THIS! check out my blog and subscribe http://www.goldenaspirations.com 🙂
Pretty! And simple!
Soo cute… is it the Essie “good as gold” nailpolish?
i tried this with regular gold paint and the result wasnt good.
Yes, we used Essie’s Good as Gold!
Here you go!
I used Martha Stewart glitter acrylic craft paint
Would you recommend a clear coat to protect it? Like a Rustoleum or Valspar clear spray paint?
We did not use one Chrissie, but that would definitely help the design last longer.
You have literally done this so well. I don’t think I can do it so nicely. It looks like it was ready made. I think I will mess up my champagne glass. lol. But this is a pretty good idea. I guess we can even remove this if it goes wrong. Good DIY. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

This is beautiful! If nail polish is being used does it have to be baked like the acrylic paint? What exactly brand should be used and where can it be purchased?
will the result vary if using plastic flutes?
A must try
How do you subscribe?
Is there any sealant or anything to make the dots stay on there?
is there a way to place someone’s name on the glass, if so how ?
Hi,
this is such a great idea!! I’d like to imitate and translate it into german if you allow.
I’ll mention you in the blogpost!
Greets from Germany

Does the polish last well through multiple washings?
I just did this with the same Essie nail polish but just on cheap plastic dollar store flutes. I struggled getting the q-tip to get the same look you have (maybe mine were too cottony on the ends), but it worked well with the rounded end of a tooth brush. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Would a metallic sharpie work? Can you use a non toxic sealer for this? I worry that over time the polish will begin to come off.
Will this work on plastic?
Can you use the dish washer safe modge podge to seal these so that they are water proof?
Hi Lauren! We would suggest it’s probably just best to gently hand wash these! Thanks 🙂
Haven’t done this yet, but can someone tell me if the nail polish will stay on permanently? Or is this more of a one time thing? Thank you to anyone that answers.
Hi Babe! We would recommend gently hand washing and air drying these to help the nail polish stay on! xo
I tried this and the nail polish won’t fully dry. It’s been two weeks. Is there a reason this would happen?
