How do I get green-tea stains out of my white mugs?
--Leanne Steiner, Glendale, WI

Yum, a nice cup of hot tea is so soothing! To clean your mug, mix several drops of hydrogen peroxide with a tablespoon of baking soda to form a creamy paste. Apply paste to the stains and let sit for a half hour or longer. Then give the mug a good soapy wash. If this doesn't work, mix 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon salt with a tablespoon or two of household vinegar and rub the thick paste onto the discolored area. Let sit, then wash the mug. To prevent this problem, rinse out your mugs right after each use so the residue won't build up.
