Bob Dylan wrote love letters to Françoise Hardy

Françoise Hardy and Bob Dylan, two iconic names in music, could have fallen in love in the early 1960s. The legendary French singer has told all to French radio station France Inter.
Bob Dylan wrote love letters to Françoise Hardy in the 1960s

It all started in the 1960s, when Bob Dylan saw the French songstress perform on TV. The American rocker immediately fell under the charm of the young singer’s melancholic trademark voice, who was only just out of her teens and already well-known, while Minnesota-born Bob Dylan was living in New York’s Greenwich Village. Inspired by the bustling city that never sleeps, he spent his days in corner cafés writing notes and letters, which were found by two friends of the owner. Amongst them were letters addressed to the French singer, emblazoned with the words “For Françoise Hardy” and as Dylan’s object of affection revealed to France Inter, “two people, who spent a long time looking for me, had inherited these documents they thought might interest me.” Bob Dylan expressed his sorrow that the potential relationship could never have worked, due to the distance between them. He also mentions that he didn’t need to be close to Françoise Hardy to feel like he knew her. The Tous les garçons et les filles singer only received these letters a few months ago, which touched her deeply. The pair only met once during their respective careers, during a Bob Dylan concert in Olympia in 1966.
