As someone who was homeschooled but just staring with a kindergartner, I found this book so readable and helpful practically!

Lots of great ideas on how to make your homeschool fit your family. Links included to her blog and podcasts to learn more. Only downside was how short it was and I was left wanting more.

I really enjoyed this book. It was short and to the point. What was nice was all the additional links. The links gave additional information, if you wanted more. Loved that it wasn't drawn out through the book. I would love more authors to format books this way. I stop reading books when topics are drawn out. This gave the reader the choice if they wanted more on the topic.

Simple read that includes great ideas to enhance your homeschooling. Good for any age of student, and adaptable with any curriculum already used.

Reading Pam’s reflection makes me want to eliminate so much “unnecessary” work we do and go back to the basics.

Love this short but inspiring read. It’s didn’t make me overwhelmed with ideas, but instead gave me some awesome concrete trails to pursue in my homeschool planning.

I have a pet peeve when I'm reading a book... TYPOS. This one has four, and although that doesn't sound like much, this booklet is just 22 pages long (short). It shows little respect towards the reader. I submitted the typos for correction.

This booklet also feels more like a long blog post instead of a book. The author talks A LOT about "I do this" and "I do that" instead of using a more active voice. I get that she wanted to provide examples, but I feel it was overused.

Critique aside, the booklet does have some good suggestions. The morning routine is a good idea. But please note that it's more targeted at people who use a more traditional way of homeschooling. She does mention unschooling, but it's in passing. Her approach is definitely not unschooler-friendly.

This book is incredibly short (it was likely a blog post), but as a new homeschool parent, it really helped me think about my vision & plan for this upcoming year, and I'm absolutely going to benefit from the ideas shared. Also, there are many links throughout the book to blog posts for further reading.

Thank you for compiling your basic tips for a smooth running homeschool into one resource. I have encouraged many of Pam's suggestions into my homeschool to make it a more joyful experience for all involved. I love the extra reading links at the end of each section to dig in deeper and will share this book with other homeschoolers getting started or needing help.

Pam is very knowledgable and gives practical advice. Especially appreciate her ideas about morning time. Just wish the book was longer!
