Ventura Overhead surf break:
“I surfed overhead in the mid to late 60’s. Doesn’t really start to break until it’s 8-10 feet. Good drop. Right longer than left but fun both directions. No cords the so it was a long swim in. Not nice getting caught inside. Cold as hell.
Shore break got fun on smaller swells.
First introduced to short board “V” bottoms by Nat Young and Bob Mctavish. Went home that weekend and cut two feet off my 9’0” Morey Pope and reshaped the nose. Life changing for me. Next board was 5’8”.”

Sidi Kaouki surf break:
“I have probably been to Sidi Kaouki 20 or 30 times and, sadly, every time it was an unsurfable, blown out mess.”

Banyans surf break:
“If you haven't been surfing here all your life and it's firing good luck getting any waves. If you try and you are not from here you best sit on the shoulder and hope someone will let you into a wave. Respect the locals.”

A Note About Secret Spots
