Dark Mission: The Secret History of NASA Paperback – October 16, 2007

4.4 out of 5 stars 207

There is a newer edition of this item:

For most Americans, the word NASA suggests a squeaky-clean image of technological infallibility.

Yet the truth is that NASA was born in a lie, and has concealed the truths about its occult origins. Dark Mission documents this seemingly wild assertion.

Why is the Bush administration intent on returning to the moon as quickly as possible? What are the reasons for the current “space race” with China, Russia, and India? Remarkable images reproduced within this book provided to author Richard C. Hoagland by disaffected NASA employees provide clues why, including information about suppressed lunar discoveries.

Mystical organizations quietly dominate NASA, carrying out their own secret agendas behind the scenes. This is the story of men at the very fringes of rational thought and conventional wisdom, operating at the highest levels of our country. Their policies are far more aligned with ancient religions and secret mystery schools than the facade of rational science NASA has successfully promoted to the world for almost fifty years.

Dark Mission is proof of the secret history of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the astonishing, seminal discoveries it has repeatedly suppressed for decades.

Richard C. Hoagland is the former science advisor to CBS News, author of The Monuments of Mars, and a frequent guest on the popular radio programs Coast To Coast and The Art Bell Show.

Mike Bara is a consulting engineer for Boeing aircraft. This is his first book.

Dark Mission immerses the reader in a reality where an extremely advanced ancient civilization left its remains on earth, the moon, and mars. High level initiates of secret societies operate through the highest levels of NASA and other U.S. and world organizations to fill in the gaps of their partial knowledge of humanity's true heritage. By ritually utilizing the ancient's message of hyperdimensional physics, they aim to resurrect the ancient link between the stellar and the terrestrial.

"Chapter 5: A Conspiracy Unfolds" is one of the highlights of the book. Well-written and perfectly paced, an adventure begins with the ancient Egyptian concepts of Osiris, Isis, Set, and Horus. This serves as a background strand that continually links the various developments of the entire space program. The roles of Aleister Crowley, Jack Parsons, Buzz Aldrin, Vannevar Bush, Wernher Von Braun, Adolf Hitler, Farouk El-Baz, Walt Disney, L. Ron Hubbard, and many others are presented with twists and turns that edify the reader at every junction. Freemasons, Rosicruicians, Nazis, and the OTO host this cast of characters as NASA is born and bred from the combination of occult wisdom, arcane knowledge, scientific development, and a host of bizarre actions. This chapter has something to offer everyone, and is alone worth the price of the book.

The book does have some shortcomings. Readers without a technical background must strap themselves in for a tour through hyperdimensional physics, torsion fields, and the J.F.K. mystery before getting to the artifacts on the moon and the insightful chapter 5.

The book's ensuing thorough coverage of the details is perhaps a necessary distraction. Hoagland has a point to prove, and drives it home with conviction and evidence. The book could perhaps have been presented in a different order where the climactic conclusions in the epilogue were presented first, then followed by the formation of NASA, and finally by the other elements that the book presents. A lot of the technical details regarding image processing could have been relegated to an appendix chapter.

The book sometimes loses focus as to whether it is written for readers that have an intricate knowledge of the subject material, or whether it is aiming for the person who is unfamiliar with the controversies and has never visited Hoagland's website at [...] This is understandable, though, given the depth, complexity, and sheer variety of the material.

If the reader is not familiar with terms such as the D & M Pyramid, the tetrahedral latitude of 19.5 degrees, the 33rd degree, and glass structures on the moon, then this book will introduce the reader to the subject. The text also has many new details to offer those who are already familiar with the authors' work. They show how NASA has intentionally shifted the color of the Martian sky to appear red instead of blue, and that is just the beginning of the revelations contained in this volume that is full of both color and black and white photos.

Anyone who reads this book will, at the very least, look up at the sky and wonder if there really are the remains of an ancient, hi-tech base up there on the moon. And even more mysteriously, are there really vast remains, including a face monument on mars starring down at them, that some insiders have long since known about and concealed for reasons that the authors can only speculate.

The authors bite off a bit more more than they can chew in this book, but they deserve praise for making the effort to uncover the black hole known as NASA. People who think the face and the pyramids at Cydonia are natural rock formations are the same people who think the Giza pyramids were built by the elbow grease of a bunch of Egyptian primitives who just got lucky with their measurements. Evidence to the contrary is characterized as "conspiracy theory". Those of us who are skeptical of conventional wisdom regularly encounter this mindset.

Masonic connections at NASA are beyond dispute, but what do they really mean? Difficult to know without first understanding what the origins of Freemasonry are. Hoagland and Bara dance around this issue, but hint, and correctly in my view, that Masonry is based upon the concept that our earth-based humanity is indebted to a set of extraterrestrial, though humanoid, predescessors. Masonry's allegiance, as demonstrated in its rituals and its obssession with secrets, is not to any earthly religion or philosophy. Accordingly, NASA knew in advance about the ancient settlements on Mars....and on the Moon.

Makes sense, and might explain why NASA strangely let the Russians probes check out the Martian moon, Phobos. The authors imply that NASA knows Phobos still has settlers, who would shoot down probes sent to photograph what they are doing. So what are they doing? Mining for gold because the atmosphere on the 12th planet requires it - as Sitchin claimed all those years ago? Is that was this is all about?

Hoagland and Bara don't know or don't speculate. All they claim to know is that NASA is not what it seems to be. That NASA has covered up the truth about life on Mars, that it has an ulterior and highly deceptive agenda. That it can never be trusted to act on our best interests. That it has a ruthless and manipulative streak masked by its glossy PR, a compliant media, and by muzzling people with frequent oaths to National Security. The book claims that NASA's scientific, philosophical, and cultic roots lie in Nazi Germany. I would suspect they go much further back than that. Unfortunately, thanks to our docile population, controlled media and the collusion of government agencies who are supposed to protect us...few will ever believe it.

One thing is for sure....NASA will never officially investigate Cydonia until it has first destroyed all the structures there. Then it will turn on Hoagland and expose him as a fraud. Everyone will buy into it, and the charade will continue...

An excellent reference book for this subject. Richard Hoagland and Mike Bara have put together a wealth of information to show that a cover up is taking place regarding what has really been found on The Moon and The Planet Mars. The cover up is not about faked Moon landings, the cover up is about what the Apollo crews really found on The Moon when they got there. Not a book for the beginner of this subject, as I do feel that you need to study the photographs of both the Moon and Mars online first, where you will clearly see the evidence and also that areas of some photos of The Moon and Mars have been obviously tampered with to hide buildings and other man made objects. To the untrained eye the pictures in the book are far too small to be convincing, which is why I feel there are several negative reviews here. Type into Google "Mars and Moon Anomalies" and do some study before buying the book. As I said at the beginning this is a reference book that can be refered to time and time again, and is impossible to digest all in one go. The photographic evidence can be seen on The Enterprise Mission website or the Joseph P. Skipper website, you can also watch interviews with ex government and scientific people, who are in the know, on The Camelot Project website. This is no fantasy, this stuff is for real!

5.0 out of 5 stars OPEN-MINDEDNESS NOT CREDULOUSNESS IS NEEDED HERE
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 19, 2014
The very act of producing this book is a credit to its authors and, I, personally, have no doubt that there is 'something fishy' about NASA.

Having read about who really rules the world, witness books by Joseph P. Farrell, et al., I do feel that much of what they say about conspiracies and cover-ups is true; the ritual dating, positioning and connections with Ancient Civilizations also have a very definite ring of truth about them.

The NASA connections and collaborations with Nazi scientists and their very advanced technology at the end of WWII is another aspect that needs to be taken into consideration here.

As to the artificial objects and what appear to be ruins on both Mars and the Moon, who is to actually say that what Hoagland and Bara say is not true? There is no proof that they are not, is there?

All-in-all this is a fascinating and informative read; as to whether you believe all they say is another matter, although it can be borne in mind that, "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreampt of in your philosophy".

My advice is to read it with an open mind - even if you do not believe all they say, you will be very highly entertained at the very least.
