Nevada health officials are continuing their efforts to get as many people vaccinated as possible, especially in under-represented communities.

A vaccine clinic was held Sunday at a Christian church near Gowan and Jones.

Vaccines and booster shots were available and free, to anyone who wanted one.

"People are more apt to take the vaccine because it is right here for them at the church. It is more convenient... people don't have to drive to another location and seeing their fellow parishioners get the shot helps ease the nerves of those who may have been nervous about taking the shot," said Carmen West of Nehemiah Ministries Christian Church.

More than 1.2 million people in Southern Nevada are now fully vaccinated, according to the Health District website.
