Abstract

The authors report the use of optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) to determine retinal blood flow in a patient with central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO). Spectral-domain OCTA (SD-OCTA) was performed on an eye with CRAO. En face vascular images were constructed using an optical microangiography algorithm. The retinal vasculature was clearly imaged with high fidelity; areas of perfused retina were identified with exquisite detail. This study supports use of OCTA in diagnosing and monitoring CRAOs. Future research is warranted to recognize full potential of this imaging modality.
