Panama Canal Authority updates Maersk Line on expansion programme

The Panama Canal Administrator Jorge L Quijano received a delegation from Maersk Line earlier this month. The delegation was led by Søren Skou, CEO of Maersk Liner Business, and received an update on the expansion programme for the Panama Canal.
Administrator Quijano updated Maersk executives on the progress of the expansion programme and said the new locks will be open for transits at the beginning of 2016.
During the visit, the delegations discussed topics of mutual interest such as the environment, efficiency of maritime services and economies of scale.
