A 22-year-old man has been arrested on charges of first-degree murder in the death of a Routt County woman.
Cole Pollard, 22, was found Wednesday near Trappers Lake in Garfield County after a vehicle he was believed to be driving was found the night before, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
Trappers Lake is in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area southwest of Steamboat Springs.
Pollard is being held in connection to the death Monday of 23-year-old Patricia Denise Richmond. Her body was found bound inside the home of her fiance’s parents in Clark, which is north of Steamboat Springs.
Richmond was found face down and tied up. An autopsy was performed Wednesday, but no cause of death was released, the Steamboat Pilot & Today reported.
Cole is the cousin of Richmond’s fiance, Routt County Sheriff Garrett Wiggins told the Pilot.
Wiggins has said he believed Pollard had been living with his grandparents in Routt County. Wiggins had little information on Pollard’s background, except that he had lived in several states.
