Bravo had big news for reality television consumers.
The pay-per-view channel announced the rebooting and recasting of The Real Housewives of New York City for Season 14.
"This is the most multicultural, diverse, and energetic and exciting city in America," executive producer Andy Cohen told Variety.
"We are searching for a multicultural group of friends who really best reflect the most exciting city in the country. We're looking for a group of women who are real friends, and who are of diverse backgrounds, races, and religions."
Bravo TV is looking to spread its content to please the audience, and they opted to adopt The Real Housewives of New York City with diversified stories.
"You know that we're at a crossroads for RHONY. We've spent a lot of time figuring out where to go," Cohen said.
"And the plan that we've come up with, I think, is a real gift to the fans. There are thousands of stories to tell here."
"We are interviewing multiple groups of friends. So certainly if Eboni is interested and has friends that would meet our casting goals, then, of course, they would be considered."
What is The Real Housewives of New York City show about?
The Real Housewives of New York City premiered on March 4, 2008. Its last season ended on August 31, 2021.
The show is about the life and professional goals of New York City residents. Multiple women showed themselves on the small screen.
Nevertheless, there was constant criticism about the lack of diversity in the RHONY cast.
"If less than half of the city is white, why is 100 percent of the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City white?" Said at the moment New York Time writer Tracie Egan Morrissey.
According to the executive director, Season 14 will represent New York better.
