Chuck has been a part of 13News Sunrise since the very first show in September of 1985. For decades families, students and Hoosiers of every walk of life have started their day with his forecasts. He is also a part of Indiana morning radio. His forecasts have been heard on "Jim, Deb and Kevin" on 95.5 WFMS-FM in Indy since 2000 and has appeared on the Morning Show on 104.1 WLBC in Muncie every weekday morning since 1987.

Winner of 5 Emmy awards the past 3 years, Chuck has also been honored by the Associated Press, United Press International and the Society Of Professional Journalists. In 2007, he was named National Broadcaster of the Year by the National Weather Association, the greatest honor of his professional career. Though he wears a lot of hats at Channel 13, he feels the most important part of his job is "keeping people safe in severe weather."

He has covered everything from tornadoes and snow storms to the Royal Wedding in Windsor England, the 2017 lunar eclipse International Space Station at Kennedy Space Center, the Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400, Colts and Pacers and Premier League Soccer. Just recently, WTHR-TV has launched a franchise called Chuck's Big Adventure that sends him around the country , showing the highlights of trips Hoosiers may take on their vacations.

Before coming to WTHR, Chuck was a weathercaster and general assignment reporter for WFIE-TV in Evansville, Indiana. He has also called play by play for college basketball, football and baseball.

A frequent speaker to churches, schools and civic organizations, he was named Prodigy of Indianapolis for community service. He has been a "Master of Ceremonies" in Central Indiana for more than 30 years for organizations including the American Heart Association, Noble Centers, the Eiteljorg Museum, Overseas Council, Damar Centers , Hope Healthcare Services and many more. He has hosted the "Good News Open" for nearly 20 years, an event that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the downtown Good News Mission. He now serves as the Voice Of The 500 Festival Parade and is very active in month of May activities in Indianapolis.

Chuck has served on advisory boards for the Broadcast Meteorology Department at Mississippi State University and for Moody Broadcasting in Indianapolis and now, the Salvation Army, and was the former national recertification chairman for the National Weather Association. He recently served on the Board Of Directors for Kingsway Christian School in Avon. Chuck is thankful for his involvement in Christian leadership in a variety of roles since he was a teenager.

Chuck graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and in 2010 was named an honorary alum of Taylor University and in 2016 received a Presidential Citation from Indiana Wesleyan University. He grew up in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. He and his wife Mary Lou have three sons, Timothy, Paul and Phillip and daughter-in-laws Heidi and Courtney.
