My New Phone

Here is my new phone!

Yes, I still use flip phone!
All my social media are done on desktop or home tablet.

Couple of days ago my old phone was acting up weird where it's not catching reception and the battery was  not charging properly anymore. I noticed I had it since 2014 so I thought it's time to switch it up.

And as usual, I like to decorate so I made crochet phone case and coil wrapped my charging cord!

My last phone(left: ZTE) was $89 and they still make something similar to it for same price but I upgraded a little to go for $112(peeking on the right: TCLFlip).

For crochet case, I went free style to try out new stitches that I never done before.

Any Pinterest lovers, I have my board here where I tried new stitches.

Darning Socks

I have a habit to try to make things lasts forever.

And socks are one of them. I have few socks that I got from Japan back in high school and til this day, I still wear them. Yes, there are few holes here and there but I still keep wearing them. It's hard to throw away something that's still functional when they're just small holes that shouldn't really bother you that much.

This is one of my examples of socks that I look forward to see how long it will last.

Darning socks

Like many enthusiast darners, I love to save scraps of embroidery threads, yarns, sewing thread to find re-purpose. It is an activity to do while you're watching TV or listening to something where you forget time.

Baby Whale Gift Wraps

Small project I did for my friend's Baby Shower few weeks ago.
Made gift tags for favors and designed this little blue baby whale that Mom-to-be's favorite.

Congrats to the couple!

It's been a while too to decorate gift wraps that I used to do. I like using craft paper and hand draw something with Sharpies and markers.

Moleskine 2024

This is my 2024's Moleskine Agenda design!
I've been into textile art like weaving, embroidery and punch needle so I wanted to try more textile arty look for this time.

I tried not to plan design for this time and tried "see as I go". Definitely lot of mistakes happened during this process but I also fixed as I go and see where I can add more elements to make it work.

Around this time of around, the weaving started warping badly as I kept going but I ignored it and finished to the top.

So the warp ended up being super bad so I removed the right edge of agenda so it relaxes the weave.

From there, I added extension to fill the gap and weaved from there. Used lot of scrap threads to weave, and added metallic threads to add stars.

Other 2023 Highlights

2023 went by very quickly.
It's crazy that time fly by even faster as I get older.

This year was my milestone year so I did more crafting to make gift for my friends. Punch needle has been great tool to make something so I made monogram coasters for them.

Last quarter of the year was hectic with new kitchen and washroom we got renovated. Still in the middle of organizing everything so hopefully I can share something next year.

Little sneak peak you can see when you scroll down at the bottom

2023 Christmas Ornaments

Merry Christmas Everyone!!
There was another ornament exchange happened this year with friends with a theme of "Handmade". Totally up my rally so this year, I made little mittens using punch needle.

I've been using punch needle to make Christmas ornaments this past years and it's been so much fun!
Check out my previous work here also!

Mini table Runner

Pulled out my FAO Schwarz's weaving loom set that I bought at The Bay during Boxing Day sale week few years ago. I went to Textile Museum for work recently and got inspired to do weaving again.

So I made mini table runner for my wooden drawer where I can display my little toys and jewelries
