This is a great little tool when used as instructed. It's perfect for small RV living and gives a person the ability to blend items without needing the space to keep/store a countertop blender. I can blend smoothies (I don't put ice through this product but have blended drinks and added ice later.) and other items that need blending and it works great. It works wonderfully as long as instructions are adhered to such as: never blend more than 1 minute and then give the motor 3 minutes of cool down time before running the blender again. For good proper use DO READ and ADHERE to the instructions. I love it and would recommend it.

I hesitated to buy another kitchen gadget but this product is wonderfully handy. I've been making a lot of soups and with this immersion blender, I can blend chunky soups right in the pot instead of transferring boiling hot soups into my old blender - which of course made for more dishes to wash. I have not tested this on really thick soups where the chunks may not circulate as efficiently nor on any soups with, say, meat chunks.

I chose the Oster because I have an OLD Osterizer blender and Oster still sells replacement blades for it (I bought a set). I was so pleased that they supported their product that way that I wanted to support the company in choosing an Oster immersion blender.

I love it.

This handheld blender would be great except that it melted in my pot of soup. After I cooked my "tortilla" soup, I used this handheld blender to blend up all the veggies, which takes about 3-5 minutes, and the plastic warped/melted and now I can't use it anymore. I will invest in a metal one next time. If it was metal, I would have rated it 5 stars because it does blend things great, just don't use it on anything hot.

I used this once to make a smoothie, 1 banana, handful of frozen berries and some fruit juice. It takes a very long time to get through the berries and was slightly frustrating. Yet I threw in some whole ice cubes and it had no trouble mixing those up. There was also a bit of splatter from mixing in the blender cup it comes with. I will try layering differently to see if that affects the frozen berry blending and reduces splatter. Overall for the price it's okay because even the expensive stick blenders have mixed reviews. Will update after some weeks of use and trying to mix other things like soups/hummus etc.
