I will admit that I wash many things by hand. One of those is wooden spoons or anything with a wooden handle. Call me lazy, but sometimes I just would like to put an item in the dishwasher. However, I have noticed a build up that occurs on any kitchen implement that is not homogeneous. I have some spatulas that have a decorative piece snapped into place. When of the pieces came loose, I was amazed to see the dark film that covered the inside...do I want that in my food? Likewise, on wooden spatulas, where the silicone or rubber slides over the wood, as the spatulas age the glue loosens and the black scum begins to build - so I looked for a solution and found these.
I will absolutely admit that I miss the feel of the wood handle, but the performance of these spatulas greatly outweighs any tactile memories. Their construction leaves me confident that there is no hidden slime and the dishwasher doesn’t phase them.
The spatulas work like normal spatulas and actually have a little weight to the handle which gives them a more substantial feel. Initially, i feared that some of their shapes may preclude them from really getting all the batter, dough, liquids, etc from the surface of the bowl — those initial concerns have been allayed and in fact all four pieces work well as spatulas. I have both used and mis-used these and nothing phases them. I am starting to think they are indestructible. If you notice the picture, the brand name hasn’t even come off the handles despite near daily use and washings for almost two years.
These are absolutely one of the best implement purchases I have made. Their cost is reasonable and there utility great. I would definitely buy them again and selfishly will probably get my sons a set as they get ready to leave school so they are t tempted to “borrow” mine.

I can't even believe how much I like using these. I have an impossible fussiness when it comes to The Perfect Cooking Spoon.

None of the spoons in this set meet the necessary criteria for The Perfect Cooking Spoon. My search continues.

That said, I was looking for silicone spatula that was good, high-quality, flexible, without being susceptible to breaking and splitting or the handle bending during use. I was really annoyed at how hard it is to find good silicone spoons/spatulas. Lots of cheap, brittle, inflexible, low quality stuff out there.

These are not that at all. These are so nice I might buy a second set, because on more than one occasion I've found myself wishing I had two of one or the other of them. They are excellent quality silicone, leaving surfaces you scrape them with nice and clean; they can be used while I'm searing salmon and steak in enameled cast iron at high heat; they can be used to blend batter and mix dough. Theyve handled everything I've thrown their way with aplomb, cleaned up beautifully, and are still as pristine as the day I unwrapped them.

This is a *great* set. Worth every penny. And I love that they have longer and shorter lengths and sizes.

I have tried many spatula sets over the years -- this is by far and away the best.

Pros:
- no seams or nooks and crannies to trap water, batter, etc. during washing. Also, when you scrape batter off of the spatula surface on the edge of a bowl, all of the batter comes off -- unlike spatulas where the handle forms a bump in the spatula surface requiring you to use your finger to snag off the batter from a crevice. All of these spatulas are streamlined from top to bottom.
- black color prevents tomato staining (or maybe it still stains, but you can't see it so no biggie).
- not too rigid, not too flimsy. I've had some spatulas that fold when you try to scrape thick substances like peanut butter -- these won't, yet they're still flexible enough to scrape up every last molecule whether it be a thin egg mixture or a thick cake mix.
- the perfect variety of shapes and sizes. I especially like the thin, long handled one -- perfect for scooping mayo out of a jar and spreading it. The small spatula is nice for those little jars. The spoon/spatula is optimally shaped -- deep enough to really act as a spoon for stirring a pot, transferring some soup to a bowl, or just getting a taste -- at the same time it "spatulas" well. That is, it will cleanly scrape out a bowl. I've had other spoon/spatulas that were actually useless as spatulas because the shape didn't allow them fit snugly on the walls of a bowl.
- the price -- wow, four super quality kitchen tools for a price that would usually buy only two or three.

Cons: I honestly can't think of any!

I'm going to give this set as Christmas presents this year.
