Fresh Flavors of Spanish OlivesLa Tourangelle Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is cold-pressed from organically grown olives, harvested from the mountains of Andalucia. The olives are picked early and processed on-site within two hours for low acidity and excellent quality. The result is a well-balanced sage green oil, intense and fruity with hints of freshly cut grass, almond and fresh olives leaves with a peppery finish. Our Bright and Peppery blend has a bolder flavor while our Smooth and Fruity blend has a more mild flavor. The Smooth and Fruity blend is a mixture of picual and arbequina olives which result in a less peppery and fresh flavor. |

Made Great Duck Egg Mayo
Years ago, when I made my mayo with egg beaters substitute, I eschewed my usual EVOO due to the latter's strong taste & used the olive oil recommended for baking. So, after I went to the bother of hunting down duck eggs since I'm now allergic to chicken eggs I used what my recipe suggested, avocado oil which wouldn't influence the flavor of my finished product & this avocado oil served admirably. Between La Tourangelle oil & the 5 duck egg yolks I also have the most beautiful mayo ever since the anemic look of commercially available mayo comes courtesy of a much higher percentage of oil than eggs. So, I'm more than happy with my mayo & especially since the eggs came from the happy little hens in a small flock of ducks on a farm.
