The pitcher seems reasonably well constructed, though I've only had it for a few months now. I plan to keep using it for a while and don't see any signs of how it wouldn't last; if I had to guess at the first point of failure, maybe it would be the handle falling off. But it's definitely OK now.
PS - For those who care, Candlescience sells this item on their website as well for a bit less than it is on Amazon as of the time of my writing. If you're ordering other things from them on their site anyway, it may be cheaper, even including the cost of shipping. However, if you are not and have Amazon Prime (or super saver), it's better from Amazon. They also claim on their website that it is now made in the US, whereas the pitcher I got from Amazon several months ago said "made in China." I'm assuming they will all be US-made, as Candlescience's site said, as the old inventory is run out of (or if you order directly from them).

It's a little smaller than I was expecting, but that's clearly another case of me not reading carefully before buying. However, for my purposes it will still be just fine. In fact, the small size may make it easier to wield when pouring (nothing sucks quite like having to get stains from dyed wax out of a countertop after a spill.) And actually, I would say that it's a little bigger than the dimensions they give on the product page. It's allegedly 4-3/4" tall and 4-1/2 in diameter, but I've found it to be closer to 5" tall and 4-3/4 in diameter. They may have estimated somewhat conservatively so as to give "effective dimensions" or something. For instance, it's probably not a good idea to fill it past the 4-3/4" mark, but it's ultimately got a little more height than that.
I've got a size comparison photo with the pitcher next to a standard AA battery, if it helps. ::nudges photo towards you:: o.O
I saw somebody mention that this "acts as a double-boiler," but strictly speaking, this is not going to be the case. It may still be fine to just put straight on the burners as has also been said, but it's not a double-boiler (isn't double-walled, doesn't have any way to store water for boiling inside.) If you want a double-boil effect, though, you can easily find another pot to fill with a bit of water and rest this one inside it for the melting process. I'd think it'd be a good idea to find some way to suspend it higher than the very bottom of the water pot, though, because otherwise the heat is just going between the two layers of metal and not strictly using the hot-water's gentler heat.
CandleScience recommends *against* using soap and water for the cleaning of this product, just as an FYI. I got an answer to a question about its cleaning directly from them, which said to keep it heated and wipe-down the inside with a paper-towel and maybe some rubbing alcohol when cleaning.
I'll share more once I've actually used it, but there's some info for you so far.
*Update - I'm coming back to this review to remove one star because "Number One in Service" has sent me an auto-generated nag-email to pester me for feedback and reviews after such time as I had already left both. Sellers need to stop flooding our inboxes with this junk, and the only way they are going to do that is if they stop thinking it's doing them any good.
