I use this to whip egg yolks and egg whites over a hot bain maries making sabayon or Swiss meringue. It is so much quicker and easier than making pots work and a double boiler is just too big. I got the larger size- which is best because you need that extra room when the contents start to swell and double or triple in volume. The long handle makes it easy to use and grab quickly as I am usually juggling three preparations at a time. The handle and lip make it fit securely over three different size saucepans that I use. A great tool.

I purchased this to melt beeswax from our bee hives and to separate out the wax from other particles in the wax. It worked well and the wax poured out easily and neatly into containers. Beeswax is not usually the easiest thing to clean off of a pot, but by wiping the pot with paper towels while the remaining residual wax was still warm, it easily cleaned off and the pot washed well. Now I can use the double boiler pot to temper chocolate or for other foodie things. It is of good quality and looks nice, too.
