Grilled Sourdough Bread with Brown Butter
Ingredients
Makes 4 Servings
- 1 loaf of artisanal sourdough bread, cut into 1" thick slices
- 4 Tbsp. (55g) Black & Bolyard Original Unfiltered Brown Butter
- 2 Tbsp. (25 g) Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Freshly Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Kosher Salt to taste
Preparation
1. Allow the Black & Bolyard Original Unfiltered Brown Butter to sit at room temperature until it becomes soft and spreadable.
2. Meanwhile, heat a grill or grill pan over high heat.
3. Cut the sourdough across into 1" thick slices and place on a sheet tray in one even layer.
4. Lightly drizzle the sourdough with 1 Tbsp. of the extra virgin olive oil, freshly cracked black pepper and kosher salt.
5. Schmear the Black & Bolyard Original Unfiltered Brown Butter atop the warm grilled bread and sprinkle with coarse seat salt for texture. Eat immediately to appreciate the warm crunch and deeply toasted creaminess.

I purchased 3 jars of Black and Bolyard Brown Butter. I keep multiple around because I don't use the brown butter just as a fat to cook with, but a flavorful element to finish with. I love the versatility of the rich and toasted flavor for breakfast. great melted and drizzle on yogurt; delicious to fry an egg with and cut the bitterness of mustard greens; the perfect glaze for pancakes or schemer on toast. highly recommend: especially because the source is a grass-fed butter that I don't have access to on the west coast.

This brown butter is the most delicious, incredible product out there! The depth of flavor is tremendous, and so nuanced! I use this straight out of the jar and use it like I would any other butter. I spread this on a fresh baguette and it's straight up heavenly. I also baked some Financiers with this butter and it worked perfectly. Such a versatile product of high quality. There is no other product out there like this, trust me I've looked!

I actually think this is the first review I have ever wrote and I order weekly on Amazon. This brown butter is the most delicious thing ever. I toasted a baguette this morning and used the “original” black and bolyard Brown butter and I was surprised from the sweetness and the texture. It’s a must try if you love butter, healthy butter.
