I had one of those goofy things with handles on the sides that have little to no control and it was driving me crazy. I ordered one of these and never looked back. Easy to use, easy to clean and I don't know if it's necessary or not but every now and then I put a little (food grade) mineral oil on it like I do my cutting boards. It's still like brand new. Highly recommend.
