Great tasting, quality oil. It took 2 of us to try to open the screw cap lid. It just spins around - the thread is faulty. We had to cut the cap along the perforated lines and eventually it opened but now it won't screw tight. I've seen other reviews mentioning the difficulty with the screw cap...so I know it's quite a common occurence.
That being said, it was wrapped in bubblewrap, carefully packaged and decent price. If the screw cap issue can be fixed - it'd be perfect.

I have no pretensions of being an expert on olive oil. However, I spend quite a lot of time in Greece where it is widely used both for cooking and for dressing salads, which is why I prefer to buy the Greek product. I have in the past bought smaller bottles of Greek olive oil from Waitrose and found them to be fine for my use which is mixed with a honey/balsamic vinegar as a salad dressing. Seeing this Cretan product avilable for such a reasonable price I thought it worth trying.

If your intended use is similar to mine, it is not only worth trying for cooking or salad dressing but in my view is just about perfect. It is a light oil with no strong flavour; I don't regard this as a defect, it's actually what I want but those after a more substantial, thicker oil with a distinct flavour might well be disappointed. As others have commented, the screw cap is flimsy and easy to damage on opening - something the bottlers really ought to address.

I've just bought my second bottle and with such quality at such a resonable price I have no doubt I shall continue to use and enjoy this excellent product.
