OXO Good Grips as they are called, produces the best cooking/baking tools in the home cooking industry--and lot of us cook daily so for me it is my business. I think this is my first Amazon review ever even though I order stuff every week. I just don’t think to do it. In looking for a replacement cookie scooper, however, I felt compelled to write what I wish I had read before buying this. I don’t bake cookies very often so when I bought this last year for Christmas cookies, I used it once. It worked great and saved so much time. I was wondering why I hadn’t bought one sooner. I didn’t use it for the next year because I didn’t make cookies again until last week. I did the first batch of 12 and it worked great. I started scooping the second batch and it broke mid-scoop. I spent an hour troubleshooting and trying to fix the lever, thinking it just came loose or something but it didn’t. It completely broke. I have a lot of OXO products and generally love them but have been disappointed by a couple things in the past, and this is definitely # 1 in terms of disappointing purchases. I’m even more annoyed after browsing for another scooper and seeing that the OXO one is more expensive than most. Maybe I’m picky, but I expect a kitchen tool to last for more than ONE baking session.
