Executive Assistant, University Compliance and Ethics

How long have you worked at UNT?

I have worked at UNT for about 13 years. I started as a student assistant my first semester.

What is your department and what does your position entail?

I work in the office of University Compliance and Ethics as the Executive Assistant to UNT’s Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). I partner with the CCO on major projects, training and analytics, office, and case management. It entails building relationships with those on campus and letting the community know that I’m here to help or find someone who can. To make a long position explanation short, I do everything I can to support the CCO and then some.

What do you like about your position?

I like that I get to be part of helping people. My unit is there to assist people with seemingly impossible situations and sometimes help to keep them from getting into an impossible situation. I like that I am part of a unit that works to keep the university at a high standard of ethics and compliance.

What is your favorite place to eat on or around campus?

My favorite place to eat on campus this year is Sauté.

Tell us something about yourself!

Along with being a staff senator, I am also a Co-chair for the Black Professional Network’s Alumni and Community Engagement Committee. For some reason after the age of 21, I have to recalculate my age to remember it. Apparently for me, after 21 it didn’t matter anymore.
