My heart skips a beat when I see there's an update, then sinks again on finding that nothing has changed. While the old app's customizability was legendary, its replacement fails in two critical areas: it turns the business of finding the news into a chore, and the pleasure of reading it into a punishment. Design is inconsistent; navigation illogical. Why not return the Live Feed to the bottom bar? And if you really want people to read what *you* curate, just get rid of My Guardian altogether.

I've had the same video: 'Buried: Annina van Neel's life is forever changed after encountering a vast burial ground' stuck on the home page for weeks. Can't remove it. And now that you can't decide what to see, you have to go to a separate 'my Guardian' page to get your preferences, which shows you stories you read works ago. The 'home' page retains headings you don't want, all you can do is collapse the content. I'm certain I don't see items I'd want to read because of the awkward layout.

To unhappy users: 6.120.19841 is the last good version. The new "My Guardian" tab fails at being a viable alternative to the uncustomisable home screen: it wastes vertical space, has clunky sorting, has fewer news displayed per section, removes the lateral news carousels, and displays smaller images. The only positive in "My Guardian" is the "Latest" switch at the top, to sort news by date. Practical! Overall, the experience is worse: more time to access less news with a poorer layout.
