Claire Danes The Beast in Me

Claire Danes is reuniting with her Homeland boss Howard Gordon for the Netflix limited series The Beast in Me.

The actress will star in and executive-produce the intense drama, with Gordon serving as showrunner and Gabe Rotter (The X-Files) billed as creator.

Danes will play Aggie Wiggs, “an acclaimed author who has retreated from public life, unable to write since the tragic death of her young son,” per the official synopsis. “But she finds an unlikely subject for a new book when a notorious figure buys the house next door: Nile Sheldon, a famed and formidable real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance.”

“Both horrified and fascinated by Nile and his past, Aggie finds herself compulsively hunting for the truth — chasing his demons while fleeing her own, in a game of cat and mouse that might turn deadly,” the description continues.

Additional EPs on The Beast in Me include Daniel Pearle (American Crime Story) and Jodie Foster, and Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross and David Kissinger for Conaco.

During her time on Showtime’s Homeland, Danes was nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards for her role as Carrie Mathison, two of which she won. She most recently co-starred in the Max limited series Full Circle and the FX on Hulu limited series Fleishman Is in Trouble.
