Fort Meade, established in 1917, is named for General George Gordon Meade, a Union Army general in the American Civil War.

For students who will attend the SIGINT Terminal Guidance (STG) course:

Student uniform will be the ACU, ID card, pen, pencil and a writing pad. Students SHOULD NOT bring cell phones, cameras, or other recordable media devices to the course. The STG course comes in two phases.

  • Phase I will be at the Friendship Annex (FANX) close to BWI. For GPS, the FANX is located at 800 Elkridge Landing, Linthicum, MD 21090. It takes between 20-25 minutes to drive from the Reece gate to the FANX parking lot. A course instructor will expect all personnel at the FANX Visitor Control Center (VCC) at 0700. He will escort students to the training facility, and go over the course material, messing, and class hours.
  • Phase II will be at the National Security Agency (NSA) on Ft. Meade. Students will need to present Driving for Life certificate at the beginning of the phase II.

All ECRC training sites are hosted by the United States Army. United States Navy personnel are subject to the specific rules and guidance set in place at US Army installations as well as standard Navy rules and regulations.

 

Ft. Meade Visitor Control Center (VCC)

The VCC is located at the Reece Gate. Hours are M-F 0730-1530. Closed weekends and federal holidays. Post access is as follows:

  • Reece gate: Ft. Meade main gate, open 24/7. The VCC is located at this gate
  • Mapes from 32: Open daily 0500-2100
  • Mapes from 175: M-F 0500-1900. Closed weekends and holidays
  • Rockenbach: Open daily 0500-2100

 

Post Office

Located next to the commissary, BLDG 2789 on MacArthur. Hours are M-F 0900-1700, Sat 0900-1200. Do not begin to ‘mail things’ to yourself. The Post Office has limited space and can only retain mail on hand for so long before they have to ‘return to sender’. The mailing address for incoming mail is:

Worship Services

The Post Chapel is BLDG 4419 on Llewellyn. Sunday services are:

Security Badges

  • SSO – 240-373-0933
  • The Army LNO will provide students their security badges for training on Monday of each week.
  • Badges are to be surrendered to the Army LNO/Instructor at the end of each training week.
  • ENSURE your ID card is CAC activated (your pin) and your PKI Certificates are updated. This cannot be stressed enough. It will affect JASS, BOL, NPC, and many official websites you will need to access.

     

    Internet Access

    MAINTAIN OPSEC when communicating with friends and family back home. The following locations provide internet connectivity on Ft. Meade:

    • Each room assigned by Abram’s Hall is equipped with a DSL connection. Students will need their own CAC reader for their personal computers.
    • Education Center: BLDG 8601 on Zimborsky next to the shoppette. Hours are M-Thurs 0800-1600, Fri 0800-1500. Closed Sat and Sun. Ph. 301-677-6421. They have computers for regular access. First come, first serve basis.
    • Post Library: BLDG 4418 on Llewellyn. Hours are Tues & Thurs 1100-1900, Wed & Fri 1100-1800, Sat 1000-1400. Closed on Sunday and Monday. Ph. 301-677-4509/5522. They have computers for regular access and three CAC reader computers. First come, first serve basis.

      Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center (ECRC) is your Immediate Superior in Command (ISIC) and maintains administrative supervision during your Individual Augmentee Training.
