Business Improvement Districts
Planning

For over 10 years, the City of Oklahoma City has been working with property owners to transform their areas, making them more attractive places for business.

Business improvement districts (BIDs) help improve the appearance of area, market local businesses or host special events that energize a district. Local property owners can choose to create a BID and direct their funds to certain projects or district services.

BIDs in Oklahoma City are created by a committed group of property owners who define a district, the services and the annual costs. The City Council makes the final determination to approve the creation of a district.

Oklahoma City currently has four Business Improvement Districts: Downtown, Stockyards City Capitol Hill and Western Avenue.
