COVID-19 protests in Rotterdam, Netherlands turn violent as demonstrators clash with police
Demonstrators in the Dutch city torched cars and threw rocks at police who responded with warning shots and water cannons as protests against COVID-19 measures violently escalated on Friday night. A police report said "dozens of arrests" were made and around seven people were injured, according to The Guardian. Crowds had taken to the streets earlier in a rally against government plans to impose restrictions on unvaccinated people.
