Yesterday I wrote about an amazing, idiot-proof curling iron. Well, it looks like I'm not the only one who's fallen in love with a styling tool. Today's guest blogger, Cosmo Editor Bethany Heitman, is about to tell you about a breakthrough hair dryer that transformed her straight strands into tousled waves.

Confession: I have major wavy hair envy. I've tried everything from rollers to irons to styling products to get my pin-straight hair to hold a curl. A few years ago I even attempted to convince my hairstylist to give me a perm. Thankfully, he reminded me that it was no longer 1985. I had pretty much resigned myself to a lifetime of straight hair, until I spotted a funky looking blow dryer in the Cosmo Beauty Closet that promised to turn my straight strands into luscious waves. The Remington Emi Airwave Anti-Static Style System, $25, is an ionic blow dryer with a funnel-like attachment (see pic below). I was a little skeptical (what if it ripped out my hair?!), but took it home to test out.

I started by applying a bit of volumizing/thickening cream (I'm obsessed with TIGI Love Peace Planet: Freak of Nature) to my damp hair. Then, I took 1-inch sections and fed them into the tube at the end of the dryer. The air whips your hair around as it dries it, creating beachy waves. I was blown away (no pun intended) by the results! When I was done with my whole head, all I had to do was separate the waves with my fingers to make them look more natural. Even better, I got a ton of compliments and people assumed I was born with naturally wavy hair. It does take a little longer than my regular dryer, but I will absolutely use it this summer when I'm in the mood to make waves.

Here's a pic of me with my normal straight hair:
