Learning about and managing my Huawei smartphone

If your Huawei smartphone becomes unresponsive or doesnʼt perform as expected, you can perform a hard reset to return it to the factory default state.

  1. Before resetting your phone, turn it off and then on again. This may solve the problem. If your phone doesnʼt turn on, follow these steps to perform a hard reset.
  2. Press and hold the Volume up and Power buttons until the EMUI logo appears on the screen.
  3. Select Wipe data/factory reset by using the Volume buttons to scroll and the Power button to select.
  4. Select Yes and then select Wipe data/factory reset.
  5. Select Reboot system now.
  6. The phone will now wipe all contents and then reboot to the initial setup screen.


Warning: all of your data, downloaded apps and settings will be erased during the reset.
  1. Touch Settings.
  2. Touch Storage.
  3. The storage information is displayed.

  2. Scroll to and touch System.
  3. Touch About phone.
  4. Scroll to and touch Status.
  5. Scroll to My phone number to see the phone number.
  1. Locate the SIM card slot on your device
  2. Insert the SIM removal tool (included in the box the phone came in) and push to eject the SIM card tray.
  3. Remove the SIM card tray.
  4. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card tray.
  5. Re-insert the SIM card tray and push until it clicks into place.
Note: The SIM card slot location may differ depending on your model.
