Hamilton Accies defender Jamie Hamilton is being assessed by club doctors after being forced off with chest pains in today's 1-1 draw with Arbroath.

The 19-year-old went down with no one near him during the second half of the clash at New Douglas Park, and he was seen holding his chest as he was replaced by Ben Stirling in the 85th minute of the clash.

Accies boss Stuart Taylor hopes the club's academy graduate will be fine, but stressed with what was witnessed at Euro 2020 when Denmark's Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch before being revived, the club will conduct a thorough assessment.

He said: "Jamie is away with the doctor. He went down with chest pains.

"I've no idea where it came from, but with stories we've seen of late we aren't taking any chances.

"I thought Jamie had been doing well and it's disappointing to lose him in the game.

"I think Jamie will be fine, but we'll have a look at him."
