I really wanted a cordless heat gun but they ran 3X or more than this gun. I just could not make that math work in my head. I don’t use a heat gun often but when one is needed it would be nice to have. So I opted for a wired version that was relatively inexpensive. I tested this gun on a few heat shrink connections and it worked perfectly. I was really impressed with the ease of use and how fast it got up to temperature.The manufacturer offers a 2-Year Warranty on this product.I appreciate you taking the time to read this. I received this product in exchange for an honest review. All in all, for the amount of electrical work I do, this product has made it so much easier to perform waterproof connections. It works extremely well and I am pleased with the purchase.Hope this information was helpful. [4 Stars]

I bought this for stripping paint off cedar clapboards on my home. There are a couple important things that I noticed fairly quickly: 1) It is very important to get a smooth, consistent heat flow going, because if the paint boils… it’s much harder to remove; and 2) finding the perfect width and style (stiff or flexible) putty knife is not immediately apparent. I would like to find the perfect long-handled putty knife, because the putty-knife hand gets hot! My clapboards are old and quite often slightly curved, so currently I am testing heat levels, distance heat should be away from the clapboards, speed of gun movement and what putty knife will work best— currently gouging the clapboards too much (and burning my hand). I have been using the 3” wide, heat-dispersement attachment, which seems to work well.
Aside from the previous, the cool-down feature is pretty cool. I also like that the power cable can be disconnected. So far, to me, I prefer this tool over scraping badly chipped paint, because after using the heat gun, then sanding… the final outcome of painting looks flawless. For about $45 I’d say this is a solid tool and sound investment for easier paint removal.

This heat gun lives on my bench. I repair EVERYTHING! from woodwork, metalwork, plastics, etc and this tool is indispensible. When my old one died, i purchased this to replace it. It is lesser power than my old one, but that is not a bad thing in that it doesn't tend to melt plastic and other delicate items so easily. It softens adhesives (Say for removing labels, XC ski baskets,..) increases penetration of solvents (stuck bolts), warms up epoxy resins prior to mixing, and many other common jobs around the shop. Good purchase.
