The Louisiana Supreme Court ruled Friday to allow the City of St. George to move forward with plans to incorporate, a monumental decision for Baton Rouge and possibly the end to a decade-long battle over the creation of the new city.
Opposition is growing to legislation that supporters say would simplify the overly complicated process of creating new school districts but that detractors say is a backdoor way of forming a long-proposed St. George school district without a vote by residents of the parish.
The LSU Board of Supervisors approved measures Friday that will increase LSU baseball and gymnastics ticket prices for the 2025 seasons.
