My son has been at DV therapy since he was 22 months old, we have had the pleasure of working closely with Ms Jackie for speech therapy who is absolutely amazing. She has shown me skills and always helps me as a parent advocate for my son. She has built a beautiful professional relationship with my son and I appreciate everything she does and continues to do for us. For OT we got Ms. Guisella who worked with what she had given the circumstances that the department is new and small she made it fun and educational for my son. She as well went above and beyond to teach me skills to help at home as well. Sadly she is not longer there and they have struggled to find therapist but hopeful to come back and do OT there. Also the face of DV Ms.Eva front desk , very understanding and respectful always a pleasure to have her greet us and she knows every patient and their family well she builds relationships my son loves to see her before and after therapy.
I honestly love this company I hope they continue to expand and we can continue services there! I would give 5 stars if OT was available !

DV Therapy (OT) did not work for my son who suffers from Autism. My son was diagnosed with mild to moderate Autism and he is 5 years old. Like any other child with autism, he deals with behavior-problems and I feel Mrs Gisella does not know too much on how to prevent this type of behavior and be flexible with him to reach his full potential. I am aware she is not a behavioral analyst and/or behavioral therapist. However, it is important to have more knowledge in this area and apply it to the therapy if you are working with this type of population. It appears as she only has experience with typical children, with more typical behaviors. My son has had 3-4 sessions with Mrs Gisella and they were literally a waste of my son's time.
One time she told me that we were going to work with my son in a different room because the room where we were working was very distracting, which I completely agreed. Mrs Gissella's room looks like a playgroup, which is cool for most children including my son, but he only wants to play and be running around and do his own thing. However, when I went and was expecting a different environment, she told me nobody helped her to clean up the room so we had to work in the same room as always; I was very disappointed.
Also, I would recommend her to read the following book "Positive Parenting" by Glenn Latham "Dr. Latham highlighted that all of us--children and adults- need to receive 8 positives for every negative. Unfortunately, Dr. Latham found that in most cases where a child or adult was having serious behavior issues, the positive to negative ratio was very bad with some children in special education receiving dozens of negative interactions for each positive one". I am mentioning this because every time we went there everything was negative "No, no, no, no " which now I believe is wrong.
She also made a comment one time which I was shocked and did not know what to say. She said " If you continue doing that, I will have you kicked out of occupational therapy". First, my son hates going there, second, he does not care if he gets kicked out, third my son needs help and making that comment hurt me because I know he NEEDS the help. At this time I am looking for a new therapist who is a better fit for my son.

They don't have patience for children especially toddlers. Emily is very unprofessional and unexperienced, seems to not know what she is doing just brings out toys and calls it a day.

      Updated review

      March 17, 2022 Update
Honestly all parents should be wary of this place especially if your child has autism. None of the employees seem to be understanding or compassionate or patient with them. When I recently mentioned a very serious security issue I noticed their building had as well as most likely a fire code violation (their back entrance is always unlocked and there is no fire alarm or anything to alert you if someone enters or if a child tries to get out, they literally can just walk on out or in this way) They decided to punish my son since he has elopement tendencies which are a part of his disability that are triggered sometimes by denying him services unless he can get aba back. His aba's branch is closing due to budget cuts and so is temporary unable to get aba until our insurance finds him a new one. I even told dv I had bought one of those wristbands anti elopement leashes for him to use to ensure he is not a security risk. They just keep seeming to want to find a reason to get rid of him because they don't seem to want clients with autism because of how much effort is involved. My sons therapist is Cyndi who I had first thought was nice but as time had gone on she showed herself to be very cold and not understanding of my sons autism. It seemed like she was always purposely trying to trigger meltdowns and just ve cruel for the sake of being cruel and wanting power over a little kid. This company also refuses to provide his data and along with another compaby tries to claim that my son was regressing in his progress formspeech when he hasn't. Two years ago he wasnt really talking and starting to use PECs. Now he hasn't been needing to use PECS really and has been verbalizing. It is beyond frustrating that despite doing everything right and being cooperative on our end that this company still saw fit to target him. He did not deserve this and DV should be held accountable.

      Updated Early 2022:

So this company is nothing but a bunch of greedy bullies. Due to my son having absences when complying with state requirements in regards to covid as well as their policies in covid symptoms they decided to use that against him as well as this review in retaliation and had his services with them removed. They had their clinical director try to intimidate me during my sons ot because of this review as well claiming that maybe this company isn't a right fit for him. They don't care about the kids even though they claim to because if they did my son would still be receiving his services here. They also seem to have no sympathy or understanding for children with autism especially in regards to them unable to do teletherapy.

At first I thought this place was great but things have gone downhill. The main secretary is rude. She canceled my sons sessions once when I was trying to get him a different time slot without my permission. Recently I have been very sick and the doctors are trying to figure out why my white blood cell count is going so high over the past year and I am being told by their secretary I have to sign an at risk letter. When I explained the situation there was No compassion or understanding from the front desk whatsoever. Really fed up. The secretary also can be heard in the waiting room calling client after client threatening to end services

Eva was inflexible and held firm that there was a 10minute late policy. I called at 11:08am, stating I was running late but will be there in a few minutes. I had pulled into the parking lot at 11:11am while still on the phone with her. She stated that since we were over 10minutes late, the late policy applies. I explained that I signed documents that stated a 15minute grace policy. She stated maybe I had signed the documents before they updated  the policy & I explained that I am a new client, who just signed the documents, I don't remember the 10 minute policy but remember signing a 15 minute policy. She rudely stated the 10 minute policy is "posted all over the office" and at the bottom of the confirmation emails & they will NOT be seeing my son today. As I new client, I have not seen/noticed these notices posted "all over the office". I texted a screenshot while in the parking lot of the 15 minute policy I signed. I then called again. And explained I was late due to a toddler blowout; not wanting to drive my son in a poopy diaper/pants and bring him on time in such a state, I spent extra time cleaning him up. No understanding or care from Eva, stating that she will bring the concern to management.

I could have shown up on time, and spent that time cleaning him up in the changing room. I do not understand how there is no grace or accommodation considering they are the ones with conflicting policies. According to the policy I signed 13 days prior, I was within the grace period. If they had me sign "outdated" forms, it should at least be accommodated.
Also, my son is a toddler. The therapist Jackie made it clear the therapy time will usually be only about 30minutes instead of 45 minutes due to a toddler's attention span. I would have walked in with my son at 11:13 the latest (we had parked by 11:12am as I explained to Eva), had a full 30 minute session & still have left before 11:45am, giving the therapist the allotted 15 minute clean up time. They take their lunch at 12:00pm (as posted on the front door-NOT posted though? This 10 late minute policy) so there were no other appointments after me, they could have accommodated my son and I for our appointment no problem without interfering with their lunch or other clients. I am floored they wouldn't have let us come in for our appointment when I followed the policy I signed with them.
Due to her unapologetic attitude, rudeness and inflexibility with an inaccurate policy, I let Eva I will most likely be cancelling future appointments and will be looking for another provider. No concern or apology.

Best place to take your child for speech therapy. They are very welcoming and pleasant here. During the Covid, I was skeptical of bringing my LO in, but no worries they follow safety procedures from wearing your mask, temperature checks and washing hands before starting therapy. They wear a mask at all times and the place is cleaned after every person. The place is clean!
My child has been excelling through the therapy because our therapist is so good. She has patients and is so innovative with finding new things to keep my child engaged. My son is always so excited to come to therapy. He is so happy when he can pronounce his words correctly. I am so glad that I have found this place. Great place!

We found DV therapy a little less than a year ago. Prior to coming here, we had a speech therapist who worked with my child for 2 years and produced no results. We were hesitant to try a new place, but we gave it a shot.

My child's therapist is Ms. Amber, and we are absolutely thankful to have found her!! My non-verbal child is now starting to say more and more words every day, and she would even sign to communicate, which something that never happened before. The progress is certainly happening faster than those 2 years we wasted with someone else that was from a different place.

If you've struggled to find someone for your child, give this place a shot. The receptionist is always lovely, the whole team is very kind. I have spoken to the owner of the practice before, and he's on top of it, and the lady from billing is very nice as well.

It's hard to trust a group of people to take care of your little one, especially little ones that are having speech problem, but this group, they are a true gem.

Our 2 year old was referred for speech therapy here due to having a speech delay. Our therapist was Rachel. She made us feel so comfortable, my son loved "going to school" every week. We began to see results just after the first session! He learned basic baby sign language to assist him in expressing his needs and reduce his frustration. After that his language just exploded! He completed about 8 months of speech and talks non stop now! I highly recommend DV therapy, it's educational for the parents and they make it really fun for the kids as well.

I am recovering from a stroke and really appreciated the cognitive/speech therapy that I got at DV. Kristina really came in with tools I could use at home to get my brain back. Also, I really appreciated that Kristina was very responsive to my needs as I recovered my strength - she made sure there was a chair with arms in the waiting area and our therapy room so I could get out of the chair easier. I highly recommend Kristina at DV THERAPY for stroke recovery speech/cognitive therapy
