In a sombre announcement on the morning of December 29, 2023, RevPro’s X account shared the devastating news of the untimely demise of Kurtis Chapman, known as Mad Kurt, at the age of 26.

Mad Kurt, a stalwart of the UK independent wrestling circuit for the past eight years, showcased his skills in renowned promotions such as RevPro, Progress, IPW, and various smaller organisations. His notable achievements included a six-month reign as the RevPro British Cruiserweight Champion in 2018.

Having debuted with RevPro in 2014, Chapman dedicated the majority of his wrestling career to the promotion. Beyond the squared circle, he cultivated a substantial online presence, amassing a considerable following through his engaging tweets and the development of a charismatic online persona that contributed to his rising popularity.

RevPro expressed their profound grief in an official statement, saying:

We, at Revolution Pro Wrestling, are absolutely heartbroken to report the loss of our dear friend Kurtis Chapman. We watched Kurtis grow from a child to a young man who loved professional wrestling and continued to excel in all aspects of his life. One of the most gifted technical wrestlers, charismatic characters, and magnetic personalities. He will never be forgotten.

When Did Mad Kurt Last Wrestle?

Mad Kurt’s final in-ring appearance occurred in June, where he successfully defended the Resurgence Arthouse Title at a Resurgence show in Leicester. The circumstances surrounding his passing remain undisclosed.
