There's no feeling quite like the one of seeing your favorite sneakers get tarnished. They could be a victim of a rogue pizza slice, a ketchup-flinging french fry, a splash of salad dressing, or even just regular wear and tear. While I wish I could wave a magical shoe lace and restore all your kicks to their original out-of-the-box glory, I simply cannot do that. But, you have the power to tidy them up.

There's no real trick to doing it. It just a takes a small bit of persistence. First, assemble your tools: a cup of water, a toothbrush, a Mr. Clean magic eraser and some dishwashing soap. Seriously, that's it. You don't have to go overboard here. Wet the magic eraser and wipe away any stains on the sole, or on any of the harder areas of the shoe (leather, rubber, plastic, etc). This is where the magic eraser really shines, nothing can escape its powers. Now, for the rest of your shoe—splash a little of the dishwashing soap in the water, and mix it all up. It should just still be clear, just sudsy. Dip your toothbrush in the mixture and slowly work out any stains. A little elbow grease will help here, so don't be shy. After you've cleaned everything up, wipe any access away with a damp towel. That's it! Easy as pie.
