I bought this tin of Dog Paw Balm for my lovely lab who gets cold paws while outside in the winter snow. Some days are fine, but other times she stops in place, lifts a paw and won't move. Poor thing. I figured the snow gets caught up between her toes and hits a nerve or just feels too cold for her. I know this more apt to happen in sub freezing temps with snow on the ground as opposed to freezing temps with no snow, or closer to or just above freezing with snow. Can happen almost instantly, so it isn't always a matter of how long we are out there for. I figured it couldn't hurt to use Baely's Dog Paw balm to see how it helps her. Next step if it didn't work is to add in socks or booties. For whatever reason the snow and cold does not bother her brother, also a lab- but I put some on him anyway.

My labs are both very good with having their paws touched. I massage this in at various times. Sometimes the night before when we are in bed (great for those looking to soften their paws) or just before we go out when it is super cold. Sometimes it helps her from getting frozen feet, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't figured out the perfect amount or timing yet. I figure it was less to do with product and more to do with me using it properly. I think I needed to use more during those times and to get really up between her toes.

I like how it smells, how easy it is to apply, now not greasy it is, and that it helps protect my babies feet in a variety of settings. And since it also helps soften the pads (which helps provide a dog more grip) I know that I am helping them in so many ways. I dont need a lot at once, and even when I have been more heavy handed I still have a ton left after a few months of use.

I totally think this is worth the try. Made in USA, family owned and operated company!

Ingredients: Bees wax, vegetable oils, propriety blend of natural butters (inc Shea and Kokum), naturally derived essential oils (less than 1% of total ingredients)

I hike a lot in Phoenix with my dog, and her paws were starting to crack after too many miles on the rocky trails. I can already see an improvement in the texture and color of her paw pads, and it was very easy to apply. The product did not leave visible marks on my tile floors, either. The product smells really fresh, so I tried it on my hands. It makes a very effective human lotion. My dry hands were instantly conditioned!
I'm hoping that this will help protect my dog's paws during the hot summer months.

I've used both the stick and this version of the product. I found the stick more difficult to apply and I ended up using my fingers anyway, so I though I might as well use this version instead. It has worked good so far.

My dog seems to love that I basically massage her feet and she ends up super relaxed! I've even used it today to get her to chill after some thunderstorms. She still tries to lick the balm when I start applying but I learned that if I cover her face with a thin dish towel she stops and relaxes more.

The biggest pro of this product, for me, is that one time the dog eat the whole stick (almost full) and she didn't even got sick. (I do not recommend leaving the balm around for your dog to eat).

We ordered Bailey’s Paw Shield because we are experiencing temps this winter in the negative digits. I received it today and used it on their paws the very next outing. It’s so cold out (between -19 to -30 degrees) we needed something! My pack could only withstand walking for about 2 minutes outside before collapsing to the ground, unable to walk. We have 5 small dogs and I was picking them off the ground like dominos!!! We tired baby socks, dog boots and they were difficult to put on and the pups hated them!
Bailey’s seems to be a game changer. Just a thin layer and they were able to withstand the cold and comfortably do their business outside.
I will share this great product with friends and a FB group I own. It was a bit hard to put on at first because it was new, but they tolerated it, it lasted 3 outings and it worked! It also didn’t leave oily prints on my floors inside either!!
It’s expensive for 5 dogs, but worth every penny!!
This week we will be experiencing-50 degree temps so we plan on testing this product even further.
Thank you Bailey’s Paw Shield for such an amazing product! You may have saved them all from these dangerous temps!!!

This is a really great product. My dane's pads are so much softer after only week's worth of uses. The product itself is initially hard but quickly softens with use. And it's not difficult to use at all. Just like applying a lip balm. The cost is a bit expensive, and given the size of my dane's paws, I could go through it rather quickly. However, I'm realizing that I probably won't have to use it everyday once they are healed. You'll have this for a while if you have a smaller dog:)

Yes—it’s expensive, but you get a large 3.5 ounce tin — that’s a few months worth. I was buying other waxes almost monthly. Second, I noticed how much harder it is than others.

When I put it on my Rottweiler’s paws, I noticed that is wasn’t greasy and it left a nice clean barrier with a light scent. It moisturized well and protected her feet from the hot concrete. I applied more after we got inside, and she didn’t mind a bit.

I use this on Charlie’s paw pads. He won’t wear booties, and we have a lot of salt & gravel on our sidewalks.
After every walk in the winter, I wipe off his paws & apply the balm…he licks some of it off - seems to enjoy the taste. Takes 2 minutes to apply. A container of it lasts a long time. I go thru 2 containers during the winter. Sometimes I put it on him before we go out. Great stuff!
